Famed audiophile loudspeaker manufacturer, Dynaudio, will announce tomorrow that they are pulling out of the United States market. This news has been confirmed, first hand, by an executive with direct knowledge of the situation at Dynaudio North America.

Factors such as import tariffs and inflation are main drivers of the decision. Poor marketing, focused on older buyers, didn’t help but the powers that be in Denmark were fossed on the ways of the past. More traditional dealers are closing and/or retiring thus leaving buying groups with more and more leverage in the distribution chain in the largest economy on the planet Earth. This too was a key factor.

Dynaudio is one of the few brands who make their own drivers and are highly respected by the audiophile community as very well-made audiophile speakers from affordable price points all the way to the very rarified air of Oligarch Audio speakers costing more than $100,000 a pair. Simply put: Dynaudio speakers are really well-made but so are so many other brands in the market today.

Dynaudio will keep selling into other markets around the world. They also have a diverse group of products from home audio to pro audio to car audio and beyond. They are a nicely veristically integrated loudspeaker company. The decision to pull out of the United States allows them to focus on other markets around the world with more focus and enthusiasm. It also may allow for the company to make (OEM) drivers for more audiophile companies who sell speakers in the United States with Dynaudio as the maker of the high performance drivers? Time will tell on this matter.

The main beneficiary of this decision will be Dali Loudspeakers. Dali is also a highly respected loudspeaker company from Denmark with unique technologies and drivers made in-house. Jason Zidel’s phone is about to be ringing off the hook with dealers looking to move from Dynaudio to Dali.

More will be coming out on this breaking news. Stay tuned.

Minutes after we posted the news… DynAudio put out their release….

Dynaudio has made the decision to focus its future market development efforts on Europe and Asia as part of its long-term business strategy.

As a result, the company is announcing that it will cease operations of its commercial activities in North America, and permanently shut down its U.S. subsidiary in the fall of 2026.

While the company has achieved sales growth in North America in recent years, ongoing economic challenges and market uncertainty have led Dynaudio to prioritize investments and resources in markets that offer the strongest strategic opportunities for future development.

Dynaudio is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for customers and business partners. A dedicated plan to maintain continuity of product support and customer service in the region will be implemented and communicated shortly.

The company sincerely thanks its North American customers, partners and employees for their support and contribution over the years.
