It’s the company’s second-generation integrated stereo amplifier bringing audiophile sound quality to the wireless audio space with high-resolution streaming, a vast array of connectivity choices, and a user-friendly control interface.

SVS Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase (buy at Crutchfield) packs a dynamic punch from its 300 watt Class D amplifier powerful enough to drive large, full-range towers and more discrete in-wall and satellite speakers with pristine, effortless playback. A sophisticated 24-bit/192kHz DAC ensures pinpoint accuracy and bit-perfect signal rendering, while enabling high-res streaming, wirelessly.

High-resolution wireless streaming options for the SVS Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase include Wi-Fi, Apple Airplay 2 for iPhones and iOS, and Chromecast for Android phones and other devices. Spotify Connect and Bluetooth are also supported. Through the DTS Play-Fi app, the system renders the highest resolution streaming possible from Amazon Music, Qobuz, iHeart, Pandora, YouTube, Sirius XM, Tidal, Pandora, Audible, and others.

Connectivity options abound with inputs for HDMI, Optical (TOSLINK), 3.5mm AUX, headphone, and analog line level inputs, plus a subwoofer output for deeper heart-pounding bass. With its line level output, Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase can also be a source component in a home theater or 2-channel audio system.

Control is possible via smartphone, tablet, or PC via the DTS Play-Fi app, the intuitive front panel display, or an IR remote. For hands-free operation, it responds to Alexa, Siri, and Hey Google voice commands via supported devices. The DTS Play-Fi app also lets users access streaming services, radio guides or a home media server from any smartphone or tablet and distribute it across the home to as many as 32 different products in 16 zones.

Compact enough to fit easily in any 2-channel stereo, desktop, or home theater system, the design aesthetic of SVS Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase is understated with a modern digital flare from the front panel OLED display. Able to display source, artist name, song title, and volume settings, the elegant display provides a rich and intuitive user experience.

Also on the front panel are 6 backlit preset buttons that provide instant access to sources, favorite playlists, streaming services, and more, much like a car radio’s presets.

Knobs on the front panel allow users to toggle between sources and adjust display brightness as well as pause playback and set volume. The IR remote controls all the most critical functions and provides direct input buttons for HDMI, Bluetooth, Optical, and Line In for easy switching between sources.

The SVS Prime Wireless Pro SoundBase plays flawlessly as the source component powering a audiophile stereo system or 2-channel home theater setup. It can also be paired with multiple other units to power a multi-room or whole-home audio system.

The History of SVS

SVS began in 1998 as a modest venture among a group of audio hobbyists and engineers in Youngstown, Ohio, who saw a gap in the market: there weren’t many high-performance subwoofers available at reasonable prices. Their goal was straightforward—to create subwoofers that could deliver powerful, accurate bass without the bloated pricing often found in high-end audio. From those humble beginnings, SVS has grown into one of the most recognized brands in home audio, offering not just subwoofers, but also loudspeakers, wireless audio products, and custom installation solutions.

The company got its start selling directly to consumers via the internet, a bold move at a time when most audio gear was sold through traditional brick-and-mortar retailers. SVS’s earliest products—like the CS and PCi cylindrical subwoofers—were distinctive in appearance but, more importantly, delivered performance that exceeded expectations. These early models generated a loyal following through online audio forums, where SVS was heavily engaged. Company founders actively participated in discussions, took feedback seriously, and used it to improve their designs.

This approach—direct contact with the enthusiast community—built trust and credibility at a grassroots level. SVS wasn’t selling hype; they were delivering measurable, reliable performance, backed by excellent customer support. Over time, the product line expanded to include more traditional box-shaped subs, like the SB (sealed box) and PB (ported box) series, which became staples in both music-focused and home theater setups.

SVS reached a turning point when it expanded beyond internet-only sales and entered the retail world, including Magnolia AV showrooms at Best Buy. This move introduced SVS to a wider audience without compromising its brand values. Even in this larger retail setting, SVS maintained its emphasis on fair pricing, strong customer service, and product performance. The in-store presence allowed more listeners to experience SVS subwoofers firsthand, helping to grow the brand even further.

As the company evolved, so did its offerings. SVS entered the loudspeaker market with the Prime and Ultra series—affordable, high-performance speakers designed to compete with brands many times their price. These models were well-received by both audiophiles and home theater fans, expanding SVS’s reach beyond just low-frequency reproduction.

SVS also became known for its smart use of social media and online content. CEO Gary Yacoubian became a familiar face in videos and live streams, giving the brand a human touch. SVS didn’t just post ads—they built a community. Their regular engagement with customers through setup guides, livestream Q&As, and product launch events helped demystify high-end audio and made the brand more approachable.

The launch of the Prime Wireless series marked SVS’s foray into powered speakers and streaming audio. With built-in amplification and app control, these products appealed to a growing audience looking for modern convenience without sacrificing audio quality. SVS also leaned into the custom installation market, with in-wall subwoofers, compact models like the SB-1000 Pro, and accessories that made integration into smart homes and media rooms easier.
