MartinLogan, a pioneer in high-performance audio technology, is thrilled to announce the latest addition to its all-new subwoofer lineup, the Grotto® Series. This new series follows the introductions of the Dynamo® Foundation, Dynamo® and Abyss Series, announced in August 2024. Grotto® Series subwoofers utilize MartinLogan’s largest and most powerful Hybrid Woofer Systems to date.

Subwoofers have been a key category for us at MartinLogan for over 20 years. As the latest addition to our new subwoofer lineup, we couldn’t be more happy for the Grotto namesake to return with such fanfare,” said Allan Tarrant, Senior Vice President of MartinLogan. “After the release of our new Dynamo Foundation, Dynamo, and Abyss models, people kept asking us about larger, even more powerful subwoofers. Consider the veil of secrecy lifted!”

“The original Grotto was the first MartinLogan product that I ever owned, and it remains in use to this day. I am thrilled to have been a part of bringing out its successors,” said Andrew Lindsey, Product Manager at MartinLogan. “The new Grotto 12 and Grotto 15 more than carry on the legacy of the original, delivering massive output capability and incredible refinement—all in a subtle, stylish design that can pressurize even larger rooms.”

Grotto® Series: Minimalist Styling. Maximum Performance.

The original Grotto subwoofer used trickle-down technology from MartinLogan’s flagship subwoofers to deliver clean, powerful, and articulate bass in a decor-friendly design. The new Grotto Series continues this  legacy and takes it to new heights. Packed with MartinLogan’s largest, most powerful Hybrid Woofer Systems and an extensive feature list, Grotto is poised to deliver maximum performance – all encased in a clean, minimalist aesthetic.

Key Features and Benefits of the Grotto® Series:

  • Bold, Precise Output Capability: Utilizes a 12” or 15” Hybrid Woofer System, combining an active Aluminum woofer with dual Aluminum passive radiators. This design enhances output and reduces distortion akin to ported designs, while preserving the compact size and tight bass response associated with sealed enclosures.
  • Massive Power: The highly advanced Magnitude MT-2kW delivers up to 2000w Peak (1000w RMS) of clean power for concussive impact, and effortless musicality thanks to the nearly endless power reserves.
  • Ultra-High Resolution DSP Engine: Equipped with a class-leading 500MHz DSP with 64-bit processing for audible transparency of all advanced DSP functions for maximum output and fidelity.
  • Reinforced Cabinet Design: Incorporates a sealed, 1” thick MDF cabinet with center braces and reinforced woofer baffles to deliver articulate and precise bass performance.
  • Integrated Anti-Vibration Feet: A sleek solution that improves system dynamics by reducing vibration transfers into adjoining rooms, fitting all flooring types.
  • Effortless App Control: The MartinLogan Subwoofer Control App for iOS and Android allows ease of tuning from the comfort of your seat.
  • Integrated Wireless Receiver and Transmitter for a clean setup, ensuring both lossless sound transmission and minimal latency.
  • Robust Connectivity: Grotto 12 and 15 offer incredible installation flexibility with both RCA and XLR LFE inputs, Stereo RCA inputs, Speaker Level inputs, and Sub Out connections. Simultaneous connections are also supported.
  • Supports the award-winning Anthem Room Correction (ARC®) for tailored equalization, tuning, and calibration to maximize bass impact.
